Hellenic Journal of Psychology

The Hellenic Journal of Psychology (HJP) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published in Greece every four months by the Psychological Society of Northern Greece. The journal aims mainly at (a) promoting psychological research and knowledge in Greece; (b) making Greek psychology accessible to nonGreek scholars all over the world; (c) facilitating collaboration and exchange of ideas between psychologists working in Greece and elsewhere; (d) supporting young researchers to present their work and learn the publication process through constructive feedback; (e) providing electronic access to full text articles. The official language of HJP is Greek and English.
To achieve the above goals HJP supports publication of special issues that are conceptually driven and involve both Greek and nonGreek researchers. The journal welcomes articles in all areas of psychology and encourages young researchers to submit their work. Particular emphasis is given to constructive feedback to the authors through the review process.
The Hellenic Journal of Psychology publishes original investigations that contribute to our knowledge and understanding of human behavior in various settings. It considers both basic and applied research papers, empirical or theoretical articles that extend existing knowledge and have practical implications of interest to researchers and professionals.
Manuscripts submitted for publication in HJP should be prepared according to the guidelines of the APA Publication Manual (4th ed.). The articles will be evaluated by two external reviewers in a blind review process. The criteria of evaluation are: (a) originality and contribution to extant knowledge; (b) degree to which the article fits the goals of the journal; (c) adequacy of literature review; (d) adequacy of design and execution of the study; (e) appropriateness of analysis of results (both qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis are accepted as long as they are appropriately used); (f) discussion and interpretation of results that shows their relevance to theory as well as their applied implications; (g) clarity of presentation, and (h) correct and unambiguous use of language.
The authors should submit to the editor their manuscript in triplicate along with a disc copy of the manuscript in Rich Text Format (rtf) or Word Document (doc) file type. The manuscript can also be submitted electronically as attached file in rtf or doc file type. The electronic form should be similar to the written form in all aspects. This will facilitate the review process. The review process is expected to be completed within approximately two months of receipt. More details regarding the submission of manuscripts to HJP are given in the Guidelines to Authors.
